An excellent career opportunity has opened for a Vice President of Business Development to join the medical innovation department of a very highly regarded Technology Development Consultancy in Cambridgeshire. The VP of Business Development will play a pivotal role within the medical side of the business working within MedTech & Medical Devices.
This company have always been at the forefront of innovation within Medtech/Medical devices for many years. This role will be roughly 50/50 split between business development and account management of existing and legacy customers. Key responsibilities will cover account management, business development, technical domain leadership, contract management and overseeing project delivery.
This role would suit someone with consultancy experience within the medtech/medical device industry, strong sales experience as well as having a strong technical background. Due to this varied role, the successful candidate could come from either consultancy or industry but must have exposure to R&D/Product development. Someone coming from a product management arena could potentially be considered.
The VP, Medical Business Development will need to have the following skills/experience:
Degree qualification to Masters/PhD level from and Engineering or Science background preferred MBA would be beneficial.
Experience of R&D and an understanding of medical device development product development life cycle of In Vitro diagnostics, surgical devices, drug delivery, implantable devices, digital health, imaging devices or medical software would be of particular interest!
Experience of operating at a senior level (VP/R&D Director) within large blue-chip corporates.
Experience delivering against defined sales and business development targets
Experience of operating with both EU and US organisations/markets would be highly desirable.
