Technical Buyer (Sub-Assemblies)
£45k-£55k (dep on exp) + excellent benefits package
One of the UK`s most exciting technology development companies is looking for a Technical Buyer to join their expanding procurement team, where you will be responsible for technically managing your vendors to deliver sub-assemblies for next generation medical devices! You will be joining a truly exceptional company which are at the forefront of their industry, who believe whole heartily in the support, training and development of their staff.
The ideal candidate for this fantastic opportunity will have an electromechanical, electronics and/or mechanical engineering background prior to moving into technical buying / procurement and have previously worked in a similar environment where you have experience of bringing together new products (prototyping and material acquisition). You will need to have been in a supplier facing role and understand the design for manufacture. As a Technical Buyer you will use your technical and commercial awareness to build robust relationships with not only key suppliers, but also that of the internals in Design, Quality and Industrialisation teams as you play the pivotal role as the link between the on-site engineers and the vendor/suppliers. You may also get the opportunity to visit potential supplier business locations to ascertain their suitability for the company!
Ideally, the Technical Buyer will have the following skills and experience:
A good degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience from within a similar highly regulated industry
Preferably having an electronics or mechanical engineering background with a good understanding of DFM (Design For Manufacture)
Experience in a supplier facing role
High attention to detail and excellent communication skills
