Software Architect – High Technology R&D – Remote working

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Software Architect / Technical Architect / Software Team Leader to join an innovative electronics product development company with an option to work remotely ( Working From Home / WFH ) anywhere in the southern half of the UK. The company are market leaders in their field, with a safety critical device incorporating sensors, RFID, embedded systems , AI, complex geometry algorithms and motion control technology. This is a key role for the development of the company as you will be responsible for the complete new architecture of the next generation product. This will include new technology which can continue to evolve with additional features including AI functionality, cloud hosting and IoT. We anticipate you will have a strong Mathematical / Algorithm background and have previous experience developing new software architectures for an Electronics based product development company, ideally containing elements of motion control, sensors and/or RFID.

The Software Architect will also lead a small team of Software Engineers and is a key role within the organisation. The position will see the successful candidate given the support and autonomy to shape and frame the architecture of the software for the next generation products and develop the in-house software development capability.

Requirements of Software Architect – High Technology R&D

  • Minimum Bachelor’s / BEng/MEng degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar discipline
  • Proven experience working as Software Architect developing brand new architectures.
  • Previous experience working for a high technology product development company, ideally safety critical devices incorporating some of the following: RFID, 2D and 3D Sensors, Motion control, AI, Cloud hosting, IoT.
  • Strong Mathematical background: Algorithm development / large Dataset / complex Geometry calculations.
