Marketing, Strategy & Innovation Consultant
a new role for a commercially focussed Technology Strategy Consultant to join one of the UK’s leading product design consultancies. As Innovation & Strategy Consultant, you will develop market insights for clients across a broad range of technology sectors, giving strategic advice to CxO level clients looking to expand their markets, manage development and risk. In conjunction with the company’s R&D engineers and scientists you will help your client define their next highly innovative and market-disruptive product.
Current focus areas include consumer technology products, medical/healthcare devices, wireless IoT devices and industrial products. You will work on a diverse range of projects including:
Strategic technology innovation projects, advising on make vs buy decisions, diversification or consolidation of product portfolios,
Commercial lead role on complex multidisciplinary technology development projects, ensuring the right product for the market
Creating marketing requirement specifications, using market research and in depth interviews with clients and key stakeholders
Facilitating concept generation workshops, focus groups, process improvement role outs, and interview programmes.
You will then communicate findings or concepts to the client, developing C-level client relationships resulting in the sale of further projects. Some travel to client sites and project related sites (such as hospitals, universities and other commercial research centres) is expected.
You will need
an excellent degree (eg BA, BSc, MEng, MPhys, -or possibly PhD) in an engineering or commercially focussed subject
to be curious and informed about current and emerging technology in the consumer tech, medical and industrial sectors, detecting trends and gaps for innovation
Have experience in distilling technical and/or business information from a diverse range of sources
Have excellent communication skills, including proposal writing and project management pl
