Graduate Materials Scientist
We need an exceptional 2021/2022 Materials Science Graduate to join a thriving Science, Engineering & Technology Consultancy based in Cambridgeshire. This is very much a hands-on materials research role with a high degree of experimental science, but also requires fundamental understanding of the underlying chemistry and physics, plus a passion for using science to solve real world problems and develop cutting-edge technologies.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a bright graduate Materials Scientist or Polymer Scientist to apply their knowledge in a commercial setting. Make no mistake -it may be called consultancy but this is real, cutting edge laboratory based R&D science! Projects are varied, highly innovative and cover a diverse range of technologies for external customers. Typical projects include Scientific Instruments, Medical Devices, Fluidics, Biotechnology, Consumer Electronics and Robotics just to name just a few. Projects are typically 3-6months duration and quick turnaround ensuring that boredom will never be an issue!

The Graduate Materials Scientist will:
Design experimental apparatus and conduct proof-of-principle experiments
Apply their broad materials knowledge -mechanical properties, surface chemistry & polymers to develop solutions to challenging real-world technical problems
Identify and research diverse new technologies for possible commercial exploitation
Manage tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary product development team;
Analyse and report on data from experimental sources, present results and findings to colleagues and customers.
A 2.1 or 1st class BSc (Hons), MSci or MChem Degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science or similar from a top-tier University and AAB at A-Level -or equivalent.
