Electronics Design Engineer – High-Tech Instrumentation
We are currently seeking a capable and versatile Electronics Engineer to provide hardware electronics design expertise for a small but highly successful Bedfordshire based manufacturer of electronic instrumentation. The company designs and builds ultra-high precision machines and instruments for the semiconductor industry and are seeing a massive growth in demand for their world-leading devices.
The Electronics Engineer will be working within a multi-discipline team of engineers and will be responsible for new product designs including next generation production models and bespoke / customer specific machines. This will include initial customer requirement through to final handover to production. As the Electronics Design Engineer you will undertake full circuit level digital & analogue electronics design including embedded microcontrollers, embedded software, sensors/interfaces, power supplies, stepper-motor drives and PCB layouts. You’ll also work closely with mechanical engineers on the enclosure design, styling and ergonomics of the finished product.
Knowledge & Skills
Degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, etc.) in Electronics Engineering, Applied Physics or similar
Experience with digital and analogue electronics design and microcontroller/microprocessor based embedded systems design
Ability to create new electronics architectures and wiring harnesses from scratch
Hands-on -willing and able to build prototypes and test/validate designs
Personable with excellent verbal & written communications skills so you can liaise with customers
