Chemistry Lab Technician / Plant Operator

We have an exciting new position for a Lab Technician / Plant Operator to join a rapidly growing start-up developing revolutionary, highly-selective adsorbent nanomaterials. These materials have an anticipated global impact to revolutionise industries such as green energy, automotive, industrial gases, space and biomedical.

As the Chemistry Lab Technician, you will play a vital role in running the laboratory, operating and maintaining high-tech production equipment. You will be the lead operator and owner of pilot plants, such as centrifuges, multi-vessel reactor systems and drying-manifold systems, used within large scale chemistry and chemical engineering research.
Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of production, from raw material sourcing to packaging finished products, maintenance and continuous improvement of the pilot plant equipment and management of raw material supplies, waste disposal and all relevant documentation.

This role will suit a knowledgeable Chemistry Lab Technician, Production Chemist or chemistry related Pilot-Plant Operator with experience gained during or post academia.

Requirements of the Chemistry Lab Technician:
– A minimum of HNC/HND or BSc in Chemistry, Materials Science or closely related scientific discipline
– Practical experience of working within a laboratory or factory setting, preferably with hands-on experience of operating pilot-plant equipment (pumps, valves, tanks, pipes etc) in chemistry related production environment
– Great attention to detail and communication skills (verbal and written)
– Ability to follow safe working practices
– Good knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Ppt)
